Kalimdor: Tanaris

The high desert of Tanaris was bathed in eternal dusk.

The Goblins of Gadgetzan were among the few that made the sandy wastes their home.

The Goblins' arena fights were legendary.

Few survived the challenges of the cage.
While a few goblins were unable to survive their own inventions.
Steamwheedle Port shuttled goods and goblins to their homeland.
The Port's customers anchored off shore and held a tentative peace.

Wavestrider Beach stretched as far as the eye could see.

Winkey set up camp on a remote island along the Beach.
The naga Zalashji was an ally of both the Horde and the Alliance.
Southseas Pirates held a massive outpost at Lost Rigger Cove.

Work on a truly enormous ship was underway.

From his ship Andre Firebeard ruled the Cove with an iron fist.

Far, far down the coast, along the Southbreak Shore ...

... lay one of the southernmost points on mainland Kalmidor: Land's End Beach.

So far from the coast that the endless night was lifted, the South Seas Isles were plundered by pirates.

A Venture Co. oil rig pumped filth into the waters and sky.

The islands were in constant conflict between the two groups.
Inland, a great evil emerged from the ground at The Gaping Chasm.

The Silithid's vile tunnels traversed all of Tanaris, erupting in the west at The Noxious Lair.
The Valley of the Waters lay before the only thing as ancient as the underground terror ...

Uldum, City of the Titans.

The troll ruins at Southmoon were relativity young by comparison.

Although the Dunemaul Ogres overran the Eastmoon Ruins as well.

The Ogres' Chieftan ruled from the Dunemaul Compound.

Thistleshrub Valley was a rare oasis in the desert.

Bones of the less fortunate littered the Abysmal Sands.

A small band of explorers reclaimed the Broken Pillar ruins.

Bandits vied for control of the water in Wellspring Fields.

Sandfury Trolls viciously guarded their territory at Sandsorrow Post.

Although most of their people remained within the magnificent walls of the temple-city Zul'Farrak.

In the very heart of the desert lay the mysterious lair of the Bronze Dragonflight:
 The Caverns of Time.

Entering into the Caverns was much like a decent into madness.

For the very power of Time itself was warped and twisted.

The Brood of Nozdormu battled the Infinite Flight over the fate of Mount Hyjal.

The Bronze sent adventurers back through time to right the alterations of the time-line in Old Hillsbrad.

The Infinite Dragons attempted to prevent the opening of The Dark Portal, but the Brood's minions intervened.

Even Prince Arthas Menethil's fall from the Light was jeopardized by the new, mysterious Infinite Flight.

Although Nozdormu vanished from his own Lair into the depths of Time, his lieutenant Zaladormu watched over the Caverns and all that happened in the present, the past, and perhaps the future.
