Kalimdor: Desolace

Surrounded by mountains and at the heart of the Centaur's territory wars, Desolace very much reflected its name.

Nijel's Point stood amid the northern mountain peaks, a sanctuary for the few Night Elves that remained and their allies.

The remains of an ancient Elven city were overtaken by Satyr who renamed the ruins Sargeron after their demonic master.

Thunder Axe Fortress was held by the Burning Blade cultists.

Powerful stolen artifacts were guarded within the Fortress.

Kormek was driven from his Hut by a former member of The Twilight's Hammer.

The unnatural mist lifted along the Sar'Theris Strand.

A statue of Queen Azshara still stood amid the rubble of an ancient Elven city on Ranazjar Isle.

Most of the ruins of Ethal Renthor lay under the sea, but the ancient lighthouse still towered over the shores.

Further down the coast the Horde established Shadowprey Village, once the home of the hero Rexxar.

Further inland Ghost Walker Post was maned by the Tauren.

Swaying bridges spanned the ancient grounds below.

Lumbering all across Kalimdor dying Kodo instinctively made their way to the Kodo Graveyard in the heart of Desolace.

Kolkar Centaur roamed the eastern plains.

Magram Village beyond the muddy ponds and lakes.

The majority of Gelkis Village was formed around the remains of an ancient city.

Their elders and Khan resided in the tunnels within the ruins.

At the heart of the territory disputes was the Valley of Spears.

The ancient Maraudine War Horn stood over the Valley.

For Maraudon was the spiritual center of Centaur kind.

The cursed Valley of Bones lay far to the south.

Within the Valley lay The Dead Goliaths, rumored to be the remains of Old Gods or their lieutenants.

The Mannoroc Coven spread out over Desolace like a scar.

Scores of powerful daemons were summoned into the area, tainting all that they touched, corrupting the very air with their Fel magics.

Cultists' twisted spells oozed from Shadowbreak Ravine.

The very earth was transformed by their vile magics.

Torn asunder by evils both young and old, Desolace remained a no man's land that most avoided and many tried to forget.
