Eastern Kingdoms: Ghostlands

At the southernmost edge of Eversong Woods the rolling hills and lush forests give way to the dark and twisted Ghostlands.

The Ghostlands were littered with the remains of once flourishing settlements. The haunted ruins of Goldenmist Village stood at river's edge.

Besieged by Nerubis arachnids the remains of Suncrown Village moldered near Lake Elrendar's shores.

Surrounded by Lake Elrendar's unrestful waters, the Isle of Tribulations was once the trial grounds of the Blood Knights.

Overlooking the lake's southern shores was the Farstrider's Enclave.

The Sanctum of the Sun was the area's only remaining magical focus.

The Blood Elves' tenuous allies, Sylvanas Windrunner's Forsaken, made their outpost in the abandoned city of Tranquillien.

Once the Banshee Queen's homeland, the majestic Windrunner Spire stood high above the village that also bore her family's name.

Fortified among the eastern mountain range, the Amani trolls viciously defended the temple-city of Zul'Amon.

Ruins and reminders of the once great Amani empire littered the landscape.

Even the restless Amani dead rose up to guard their sacred resting places.

Ancient enemies were not the only dangers the Blood Elves faced. Festering at the base of The Dead Scar stood Deatholme, bastion of Scourge forces.

Seemingly endless legions of undead rose up from the ziggurats and plague cauldrons.

... and vile magics poured forth from the Tower of the Damned.

Defending their lands on several fronts, the Blood Elves were caught unawares when High Priestess Tyrande Whisperwind ordered her spies into the Ghostlands.

Despite their powerful magics, they only observed ... as far as the Blood Elves knew.
