Eastern Kingdoms: Alterac Mountains

Rising above the Hillsbrad Foothills were the Alterac Mountains, once the seat of power of the traitorous Kingdom of Alterac.

Caught in their treachery during the Second War, Alterac's capital was demolished by the enraged Alliance.

Little remained of the once flourishing city.

Only the Keep remained relatively intact amid the Ruins of Alterac.

Crushridge ogres migrated from their caverns at Slaughter Hollow into the city, claiming it for their own.

Marauding ogres were not the crumbling nation's only scavengers. A power organized crime group, The Syndicate, rose from the remainder of Alterac's nobility - and opportunistic thieves.

The Syndicate completely controlled the abandoned town of Strahnbrad.

Encampments at Corrahn's Dagger allowed The Syndicate to keep a close eye on the Hillsbrad Foothills below.

The network thieves trained recruits at Sofera's Naze ...

... and powerful dark magics were taught at camps all along The Uplands.

One of the Syndicate's headquarters was hidden within Dandred's Fold.

What devious plans they concocted on the Misty Shores of Lordamere Lake were never entirely known.

The remains of Lordaeron's internment camps - which caused that kingdom so much strife after the Second War - now decay, forgotten.

The entire magical city of Dalaran uprooted itself to battle the scourge in Northrend.

The Horde skirmished with the Alliance in Alterac Vally.

For all their efforts, neither side remained victorious for long.
